Abstract

This letter comments on the issues raised by an article on this subject in the May 2011 issue of the South African Medical Journal.
Comments deal with the need for longer Obstetric attachments for trainees preparing for work in peripheral hospitals, the use of Advanced midwives in operating theaters and the techniques employed to close the uterine wound.
