SAMA pitches in to help victims of adverse medical events

Abstract

The South African Medical Association is investigating setting up a fund to compensate patients who fall victim to unavoidable adverse events (through no fault of their treating physician), while working with government to improve the overall quality of care in both the public and private sectors.
