Surgical Complications of Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) Infection in HIV infected children

Abstract
BCG disease is a growing epidemic. Tuberculosis in BCG exposed HIV infected children, must be differentiated from Mycobacterium tuberculosis as it mandates different treatment. The risks of BCG in HIV infected infants are significant and a change in policy is required to prevent its harmful effects in a high risk group of patients.
